Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA)

PTSA LogoWhy should I join the PTSA/PTA?

When you join your local PTSA, you’re joining PTA—a national association and America’s number one parent involvement resource. Your child is why you should belong. More than 30 years’ worth of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and at school. Grades and test scores climb. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve. There’s a simple way for you to help your child succeed: Join PTA. You’ll belong to a community of parents committed to their children’s well-being and to improving school performance.

We are parents, teachers, students & community members working together to:
  • Build a strong school community.
  • Facilitate parents' efforts to serve as a resource to the school through volunteerism.
  • Voice concerns and encouraging active dialogue among our group on matters of policy affecting our children.
  • Provide our school with funds to enrich and maximize the curriculum.
  • Last year, through fundraising, our members were able to provide: Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and Lunch, FSA snacks, Honor Roll treats, Turkeys for Thanksgiving baskets, awards for the 8th grade ceremony, Assistant Principals', Secretaries', and Nurses' Day flowers, Recycled Dresses & Suits for the 8th grade Formal, FSA incentives and grant donations to the Chorus for students to attend a Chorus Conference, Academic Games registration for a student, a self monitoring computer based program for Band students, supplies for the Chalk Drawing Festival, pizza for the 'Million Words' Readers' luncheon, and summer transition program for 5th/6th graders, just to name a few!
